Drawing on empirical evidence from Extensive Reading Project in Vietnamese Higher Education context, this workshop was a powerful sharing session for anyone working in ELT who wish to benefit from a practitioner-researcher’s based perspective on the know-how of Extensive Reading, in particular its contribution to learners proficiency development and learning autonomy development as well as emergent issues and challenges in its integration into curriculum. The workshop was held yesterday, 11 March 2017, at Ahmad Dahlan Language Center. The speaker was Ryan Thompson, M.A., a CELTA Educator, CEL RMIT International University Vietnam. He talked about some issues regarding Extensive Reading as well as his insightful experience on conducting Extensive Reading classes at RMIT Vietnam. English students and lecturers of some universities in Yogyakarta and beyond attended this great event.
